Arriatera-Atxabiribil is a large beach, made up of fine-grained, golden-colored sand. It is a beach open to the sea, windy, with sometimes very strong waves, which generates 4 currents (the most dangerous located on the right side, facing the sea, from Atxabiribil and in the central area) perfect for surfing. It is 826 m. long, 134,684 m2 of active area and 20,322 m2 of rest area, located between Punta Solondota and Atxatoki.

It is surrounded by cliffs where points of geological interest are found, such as Danish Limestone, Horizontal Fault, Conjugate Fault, etc. It is a semi-urban beach with a high occupancy rate and is very popular with surfers, as it is one of the beaches in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country that is most suitable for practicing this sport.

This beach has an integrated ISO 9001:2004 and 14:001:2008 management system, and since 2014 it has had the EMAS III registry for environmental management.
